New CYMS Tour

Second-year Engineering students from Casper College, along with members from the CC Building Design Committee were given a tour of the New CY Middle School on Sept. 24th by Project Manager, John Griffith. Students and committee members were extremely impressed with the size of the project and with the exposed structures they viewed while on the tour. They commented on the exceptional quality and the vast amount of work that has taken place in the small amount of time since breaking ground and starting the construction in October of 2008. The students asked many questions regarding the construction and design aspect of the building. Everyone enjoyed touring the building's crawl space and took a special interest in the technical concept of the building's mechanical systems and the sustainable elements of the project, which are not commonly found around the State.

Casper Adopt-a-Street Clean Up

A BIG thank you to all the Casper employees and families who helped with the Adopt-a-Street clean up on Landmark Drive in east Casper on Sunday, August 30th. Groathouse Construction has been involved with the clean up of this street three times a year since 2007. We have collected approximately 1300 lbs. of litter, volunteered almost 100 hours, and cleaned a total of 6 miles over the past couple of years.

Our Casper office employees have also recycled approximately
200 lbs. of aluminum, 200 lbs. newspaper, 500 lbs. office paper, and 175 lbs. of magazines at the office since January 2008. We would like to encourage all GC employees to take part in community clean ups and recycling projects at their offices and job sites.
